A seminar on sensitisation of scholarship scheme for all the schools under Kohima district and Pughuboto division by the Directorate of School Education was conducted by District Education Office (DEO) Kohima on August 16 at TM Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) auditorium Kohima. A press release by DEO Kohima office stated that the resource persons for the seminar were deputy director and scholarship nodal officer, Limadangit Jamir; UDA (scholarship), Jangsemba Tzudir and special educator (scholarship), Zurhetho Nyuthe.
The release stated that the participants were sensitised on scholarship schemes like pre-matric minority scholarship for class 1 to 10, NGSSMA and pre-matric scholarship for schedule tribe students of class IX and X. According to the release, the “concern authority” mentioned that due to “ignorance and not wanting to take extra trouble” during the past years nothing much could be done for the students in regard to scholarships.
The release said the target was to achieve 100% coverage to all eligible children.
